Consistency!

Working as a range officer at Shoot Center, I get to watch how everyone shoots. Shooters have different styles and firearm preferences. But there is one common fundamental that I believe is one of the most important shooting skills that we should all have: This skill is consistency.

Some may think that shooting the tightest grouping is the best, while others may believe shooting faster is superior.

Depending on the size of the target and how far away it is, determines how fast one can engage the target while maintaining acceptable accuracy.

Here is a helpful range tip: practice by drawing a few circles on the back of your target, with varying sizes. Place it at the appropriate distance of your choosing, and work on the correct speed to keep all shots within each circle. Challenge yourself to speed up the shooting, while maintaining the same level of accuracy!
